Musica Batteria

Musica Batteria

Today, it was a real pleasure to leave the office early to go to a special musical performance at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills. The afternoon recital was featuring Musica Batteria. Kristen Tait and Lynn Koch performed together on the marimba...I have to admit that I was not 100% certain what a marimba was but eager to make this a learning experience!

To my delight, the mellow sounds filled the salon and had some guests tapping their toes while others were swaying to some old favorites that were being performed by these two talented musicians. I particularly loved the arrangements from south of the border...but have to admit the Wassail song was pretty special, too. I also knew that my mother would have loved hearing the Tea for Two and some other of the oldies!

What a wonderful sound for a cocktail party - something a little different and a sound that carries and would not be lost in a remote corner. For the most part, I found it to be happy music! I will be eager to book this duo for one of the coming year's events!

I am thinking some great Sangria and a little Latin music...sounds like a reason for a party!
