Actually, the wedding coordinator should be one of the very first people that you should consider hiring. They can assist you with references for vendors, give you information on various wedding sites,suggest entertainment, etc. Their assistance from the beginning will be helpful in getting your organization started. |

When you interview the wedding coordinator, ask to see how they organize all of the details and if they can assist you with keeping all of your information organized. Also, ask for a list of references from other wedding couples. If the coordinator is hesitant to share any of this information, it might be best to keep looking for someone with great credentials! |

When addressing the wedding invitations, if we want the entire family to attend do we add the word 'family' on the outer envelope?

According to the rules of addressing from Crane's Blue Book of Stationery, one does not use 'family' on the outer envelope. On the inside envelope you would include the names of the children being invited.
Example for the outer envelope:
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones
1700 Arnold Street
Paradise, Maine 30786
For the inner envelope:
Mr. and Mrs. Jones
John, Susan, Patrick |

What do I do when I am inviting two doctors to my wedding - how do I address the invitation?

There may be a couple of ways to address an invitation to a couple when both individuals are doctors. It depends if they both have the same last name or not.
Example for outer envelope:
The Doctors Simpson

Harvard, Illinois 60089
The inner envelope:
The Doctors Simpson
Or with different last names:
Doctor Barbara Wells
Doctor Timothy Simpson
100 Plain Street

How soon should the planning of the wedding begin?

A wedding couple can begin the planning at any time! The average planning time for most couples is one year. However, I am finding that some couples are beginning their planning two years in advance. The longer planning period allows them time to save money, become educated on wedding costs, and check out various entertainment and reception facilitiess. However, I have also helped brides plan a wedding in a month's time! Again, you use the time you have; the key is organization! |
